I am the kind of guy who closes all of his dresser drawers when he is done accessing the contents. Same goes for desk drawers. Even though they are both in my bedroom and nobody else uses the space, I feel better with them closed. I open, remove or replace the requisite items from the drawer, and close. Immediately. Definitely better that way. No open drawers, please.
What about you, good reader? Do you keep your drawers open or closed?
I just looked. I have a four drawer dresser and they are all open at least 3 inches, and two drawers in my 5 file cabinet are open too.
I guess I want my stuff to breathe, lol
I have to say that I vary between desk and dresser. Desk: closed if not in use. Dresser: closed only when I am straightening up the room. (This could be because my dresser is rubbish and the drawers don’t open and close easily. The desk is new and the drawers glide with grace and dignity.)

Thanks for stopping by chickenmonkeydog and for leaving your comments.
There is something to be said for avoiding that stale air smell that comes with keeping things shut up for too long.
I personally would like a dresser where I could have all the drawers open at once and none of them would block my access to the other drawers…hmmm…I guess that would mean I should get a shelf.
do you really question open or shut drawers?
@ mom
Why, of course we do! chickenmonkeydog is all about taking a second look at the exceptional everyday things, and dresser (or desk) drawers seem like they may have some interesting things to say about the users.
So what do you think your drawer habits say?
My drawers are nobody’s business.
by the way Conall, nice dresser you show.
@ mom
Thanks! Got it from a great source.
