He said: “Excuse me sir. Could I please ask for some of the cuttings from your plants?”
But he meant: “I was about to steal your potted plants, but because you made such an upfront and generous offer to share the cuttings, I’m going to take you up on that offer.”
What do they mean by ‘cuttings’? Are they going to give you a leaf or a maybe just a flower?
The ‘Cutters’ started it.
@ K
I believe that plant cuttings refer to a significant enough portion of the plant that one could take a replant it and have a new plant grow. Check it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cutting_%28plant%29
This is not a joke. When we lived in Florida we had a very large and beautiful Bird of Paradise growing at out front entrance. We had incidents of folks both coming by and steeling cuttings or stopping and asking for such.
It was very weird.
I might have been one of those people.
I’ve seen a few stories about people having TREES stolen. Some cacti are also prime victims in the southwest U.S. because they are slow growing. Then there are always the evergreens cut down by folks who want a free Christmas tree.
@ Steve: I thought you looked familiar. 😉
