Beware the Ides of March

Gaius Julius CaesarAlthough the warning has, after some two centuries of use, become a bit cliche, ‘Beware the Ides of March’ still holds true. This morning I suffered a near-migraine headache and was late getting into the office.

Ok, it was no knife in the back, but still, not an ideal start to the work week. I sure wish I had had some sort of warning that it was coming.

  1. Ides is a plural word and represents not a single day but the middle group of days in a month. All months of the Roman calendar had them.

  2. My sister was born this date some 42 years ago and she would likely be happy to apply the tickle of cold steel between someone’s shoulder blades.

  3. Aye, my brother-in-law was born on this day, and my sister, his wife, was born on pearl harbor day; that day that shall have lived in infamy and yet in this day does not.

  4. I hope the “St. Patrick’s Day” of March is a more enjoyable day for you! Thankfully it shall arrive in short order and hopefully provide some relief.
