I write this post on behalf of all those around the world who suffer hay fever. On behalf of all those who sniffle and sneeze their way through hay fever season, I would like to ask why the mucous membrane couldn’t be a muscle? Our legs get tired when we run too long. Our lungs feel like they are going to burst when we push ourselves too hard. Even our heart can be pushed over the edge.
The mucous membrane on the other hand can go for days and days making loads of the icky stuff without seeming to slow down at all. Why is that? Certainly that’s got to be some sort of design flaw. Can we speed up the evolutionary process on that organ so that its functionality can be improved?
I hope you feel better.
