Who Likes New Socks?

new socks

New socks always pose a major dilemma for me.

Socks are most comfortable to wear when they are new; they are still thick, soft and fluffy. However, along with that fluffy-ness comes an inordinate amount of sock fuzz that sticks to your feet when you take your socks off, and even more fuzz that comes off in the dryer.

The problem is, that if you want the fluffy softness – you can’t avoid the sock fuzz. By the time the socks stop giving off all that fuzz, they are also no longer as comfortable. Yep, a serious and major dilemma.

  1. while i do enjoy a nice pair of new socks, there is something to be said for a gently used pair of socks that knows your foot, and the toe and heel line us just right….

There certainly is something to be said for socks that are customized to the feet they are being worn on. Strange that while socks seem to adjust to the foot’s length, they don’t (after washing) really retain a “left” versus “right” shape. At least mine don’t.

I like how you personified the socks as “knowing” your foot….that’s a cool idea.
