A sharp-eyed reader from Chicago sent us a photo of a sign on Madison Street in Chicago’s Loop district. Our reader wasn’t sure what was ‘300 FEET AHEAD’ but he felt that we all should be warned about it.
Let’s hope whatever lies ahead doesn’t have an arm length of 305 feet!

Maybe the sign wasn’t warning people of what was 300 feet ahead, but rather warning them of lots of pedestrian traffic ahead, or even warning those squeamish towards dismemberment that there would be 300 feet ahead that aren’t attached to anything.
