Bad weather always makes travel into a gamble. Whether its driving rain, tornadoes or snow storms, getting from point A to point B is not always an easy task during storms.
In many cases, one has to gamble on which option will be the most efficient, or at least which is least likely to be delayed or cancelled. Whether it is deciding between taking a plane or renting a car, a taxi or the subway, driving yourself versus hopping on a train or some even more complex set of options, the decision is always a gamble.
All options have their pros and cons, and the unpredictable weather can change the game at any moment. Currently, I am hurtling eastbound on a speedy train to Philadelphia, hoping to reach my final destination before the snow overwhelms the train and we have to slow down or stop. In truth, I would rather be in front of a warm hearth with a book and a blanket, but I will just have to see how my train gamble pans out.
Here’s to all you who inclement weather travelers!
Uh-oh. The lights on my train just went out and we are coasting to a halt….
