I make a lot of peanut butter sandwiches. Easily in the neighborhood of 3-10 per week. Sometimes for myself. Often for others.
And, yes, always creamy. Never crunchy on sandwiches. Okay?
I use a soft plastic spatula to take peanut butter from the jar, mostly so that I can leave the contents of the jar looking appealing for the next time that I unscrew the cap.
I’ve been told that this practice is not common – and that the anxiety I feel when I discover that the contents of the jar have not been left with a smooth appearance is not healthy.
Surely, I can’t be the only one who frets over the quality of presentation of the inside of the peanut butter jar.
You’re just a professional.
I wholeheartedly agree about level peanut butter. I eat a lot peanut butter and have been known to continue eating from the jar just to get the surface more level, or to leave the peanut butter out so it softens enough to “melt” even again.
There is nothing like opening the jar and seeing a perfectly smooth surface of peanut butter!
It’s called smooth peanut butter for a reason. Smooth is more of a command and less of a description.
