Slippery Cartwheels

This sign on the ground of the wharf in San Francisco was passed unnoticed by many folks, but I was keen to spot the obvious re-use of their “cart-wheeling man” graphic. I think the city of San Francisco was trying to save money by re-using the “cart-wheeling man” graphic and calling it the “falling man” graphic.

Slippery when wet sign

There is no way someone who slipped would look so exuberant on the way down.

  1. I’m glad they could draw individual fingers but not a neck.

I do appreciate the use of jazz hands while falling though. Bonus points for style.

Good point! I wonder what led the artist to consider individual fingers as critical, but skip out on feet, joints, neck, etc.

  3. I am just sad that I can’t even do a cartwheel and that guy can do one on slippery ground and with his head floating, unattached, above (or below) his shoulders!

  4. @ Meg –

I totally agree with you on the jazz hands! If you have to fall, you might as well fall with grace and style!
