Like many cities around the world trying to cope with the economic downturn, the City of Gotham is facing severe cuts in its budget and is being forced to make significant changes to the way it operates. It recently took the drastic step of making the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gordon, redundant as part of its cost-cutting measures.
In a shocking turn of events, the former Commissioner has expressed his anger and frustration at being let go by the Gotham City mayor and council. Apparently distraught by the city’s attempts to outsource its policing strategy to a cap-wearing crime fighter in a bat-mask and cape – who does not charge for his services – Mr Gordon has taken the shocking step of trying to sabotage the city’s efforts.
