Ugli fruit

On a trip into my local grocery store, I spotted this (harshly named?) ugli fruit. Apparently it’s native to Jamaica — where (I guess) the locals call ’em like they see ’em.

So, would you eat it? Any thoughts to names of fruits which would completely turn you away from eating them?

  1. No way on the blood sausage. Those are made with the blood, which grosses me out…even though I eat meat and medium is just fine with me.

  2. “UGLI is the trademark of Cabel Hall Citrus Limited and under which it sells its Jamaican tangelo, a citrus fruit created by hybridizing a grapefruit (or pomelo), an orange and a tangerine. Its species is Citrus reticulata × Citrus paradisi. It was discovered growing wild (possibly having developed in the same way grapefruit was created) in Jamaica where it is mainly grown today. It has an unsightly appearance with rough, wrinkled, greenish-yellow rind, wrapped loosely around the orange pulpy citrus inside.”
