Waiting for freight trains to pass is a classic way to spend time in central Illinois.
Are there good apps for this? How do you spend the time waiting for trains to pass?
Mostly I just sit and stare and crane my neck (totally unnecessarily of course) to spot the end of the train. I feel like there could be something more entertaining and productive to do.
I count the cars and estimate how much momentum I am seeing. Blows my mind every time.
