While reviewing a map of Ireland, trying to get us off the cow-path that our GPS unit had led us down, I was gratified to learn that Ireland has a peninsula on the northwest coast called “The Mullet”. I can only imagine that a mullet is the required hairstyle and the general operating principle of the locals is “All business up front, but a party around back!”
I figure it is an added bonus that the peninsula actually looks like a mullet.
And if you want to know more about “The Mullet Penninsula” in Ireland, visit the official Ireland Tourism website about the Mullet.
Gratified? I would have thought that ‘surprised’, ‘amazed’, ‘bewildered’ or even ‘gob-smacked’ would have been a likely reaction. But ‘gratified’? Hmmm … please do explain further.

Yep, gratified! After the frustration of being sent down a dead-end cow-path by the GPS unit, which we were paying about $20 a day to rent, I wasn’t very satisfied. However, due to these poor directions I was forced to pull out the map and find our way the old-fashioned way. This lead to my discovery of that Ireland has The Mullet peninsula, and hence, my gratification.
