Emergency Ration of Scotch

One has to expect a certain amount of delay and inconvenience while traveling, but as I sat in the Pittsburgh airport for four hours this week…

and then boarded the plane…

then sat on the runway…

then went back to the terminal…

un-boarded…

waited…

re-boarded…

sat for a while…

and finally flew home about four hours late, I realized that all airplanes should carry an emergency ration of nice scotch.

Small glasses of scotch could be stored overhead, next to the emergency oxygen masks, and in case of stressful delays the flight crew could quickly deploy the “cautionary calming measures”. Alright, maybe getting irate passengers a little tipsy doesn’t sound like a good idea, but a nice glass of scotch or two for me would surely help make the time pass more quickly.
