About a week or so ago, I was driving into Oxford when I stopped for a traffic light. My eyes drifted to the row of shops that lined the London Road through Headington. I was struck by what I saw.
Now, there’s a full-service travel agent! Whether you’re travelling to the south of France or to the hereafter, they have you covered. Want a week-end break to do some hiking in the Lake District? Fallen off a rocky-outcrop and died? No worries! The good people are Co-op Travel and Funeral Care have you covered.
Ha ha….that is a good one. The “one-stop-shop” concept taken to its logical conclusion.

Ah shop names and signs!
Reminds me, weirdly enough, of a shop, that used to be near Strand, and was called Virgin Brides (owned by Virgin, no guarantee on brides).
@ Quirky Indian – I too was struck by the brilliance of the business mind that developed the concept.
@ Shefaly – So, what did that store sell?
Bridalwear and stuff women need for weddings.. It is no longer in business.
With the current up-surge in the popularity of destination weddings (economic downturn aside), I am quite certain the folks over at Co-Op Travel and FuneralCare are just preparing for Destination Funerals to become the hot-new-thing.
Now wouldn’t that be trendy! All the ‘in’ people are soooo getting buried in the Bahamas this year! Having your ashes scattered on Mt Kilimanjaro was so last year.
