The Name Says It All

There are a lot of brands that we come across where the brand name doesn’t immediately convey what’s being sold. But a brand name called “Rest Assured” that makes toilet-seat covers is nothing less than 100% product-nomenclature alignment.

So here’s the question: Look at brands or company names that you come into contact with on a day-to-day basis. Based on their name, what do you think they should be selling? Should the “Glad” company sell medications? Should Borders have sold frames or coloring books instead?

  1. Just had this conversation with my 14 y/o son regarding my first car — the Chevy Nova. Although he studies German as a second language, he was astute enough to realized that “Nova” means “No-Go” in Spanish…

    Wonder if the General Motors gang thought that through before attempting to launch that brand south of the border back in the day.
