Small Town Lights

map with stoplights

In a small town on the USA-Canada border, I noticed that the town stoplights are prominently indicated on the map which gets handed out to tourists.

I could not decide if this was just to help visitors to navigate the town (i.e. “Go straight on this road until the second light, then turn left”) or if including the lights was a point of pride for the town (i.e. “We’re not some tiny single-stoplight kind of town!”).

  1. On the radio the other day, I heard about a town in Pennsylvania that has the only stoplight in the county. And yes, I said ‘county’.
