In a conversation last week a friend used the phrase “easier said than done.”
This got me to thinking; aren’t most things “easier said than done”? And then I began to wonder, is there anything in the world which is “Easier done than said”?
So that’s the Monday Morning Challenge here at chickenmonkeydog.com, can you think of anything which is easier to do than it is to say?
Sorry, rather bad taste but….
Surely it depends whether you have stammer or not?
(feel free to slate me.. It’s mean I know!)
@ Pete –
Not bad taste at all. You’ve called us out on what so many of us — especially us — do every day. We overlook the many hurdles that those with disabilities or special needs face every day.
Also nothing!
Sorry to change the subject a little but I love these “turns of phase” that we have in English.. They are so funny and querky! (on the other hand, load of cobblers, mad as a hatter, upset the apple cart etc)
But they can be difficult. I had an psyc assessment with an (excellently spoken) Italian chap the other day and trying to explain what I meant by the standardised question: “do you forward with enjoyment to things?” was TORTURE!!
How about a hug? That seems easier done than said.
I think selling sea shells by the sea shore would be easier than saying that phrase ten times fast.
Flatulance?
Fixing a computer. MOVE!
Good call Louise, I think you nailed this one.
Calculating how much wood a wood chuck could chuck, well, that is if a wood chuck could actually chuck wood.
Body processes (breathing, seeing, hearing)
Brings up an interesting point of whether easy is based on effort or conscious effort.
@ Jordo,
A wood chuck would chuck all the wood he could chuck, if a wood chuck would chuck wood.
