Much ado has been made about how Facebook and other social networks have been responsible for so much lost time and productivity at work. Employers are forced to moderate internet usage and factor in lower productivity due to time lost to web surfing
Last week, as I anxiously awaited a package being shipped to me from Amazon.com, I began wondering how much time is lost annually due to “Track Shipping” being so readily available these days.
How often do I end up checking a shipment’s progress, only to learn that it has moved from a place I’ve never heard of in Kentucky to a place I’ve never heard of in Wisconsin?
We know that regularly checking will not get the package to us any sooner, but who can resist the temptation to refresh that tracking page one more time? Who knows, perhaps there may be a breaking update!
Please excuse me now, I need to go check the latest on my shipment tracker.
Have you ever heard of Evansville, Indiana. I don’t live there, but have you?
