The Working Adult’s Time Machine

As a child, and especially after having watched the movie Time Bandits, I often dreamed of travelling through time. Meeting Gaius Julius Caesar, storming across the battlefield in knight’s armor and exploring the world with Marco Polo. Such thoughts filled countless hours of my playtime as I grew up. How I longed for a time machine that could whizz me back and forth through … while perhaps not even requiring 1.1 gigawatts of power (Am I remembering that correctly?)

Now, as I face life as an adult, my ideal time machine is not one that allows for moving through time. I simply want a device that will allow me to pause time for as long as I need to catch up on life.

Sound interesting to anyone else?

  1. Oh gawd no. I’d like a time machine that would speed things up a bit. I am not interested in pausing my life in its current state!

  2. I’m with forkboy1965, I often think about how I’d like to just jump ahead to the end of various not-that-pleasant tasks which I’d rather not experience.
