Driving around my midwestern USA neighborhood this evening, I got to thinking about holiday lights.
Not too long ago, technology did not exist to safely allow thousands of tiny lightbulbs to be put in trees, on gutters, and all around houses. Today, the technology is there, and people do it. Lots of people do it. It is definitely a cultural winter holiday season standard.
So now I am wondering, what will future technology enable that will become established as standard holiday home decor?
Animatronics T-Rex with flailing and ‘blood’ spurting Santa in its mouth.
The future looks bright to me.
Sweet! Rather than the passive one-upsmanship that occurs between neighborhood rivals now, the decor of the future will just outright go attack the neighbors decor!
