Parking Problems

No parking sign on a dug-up road

No parking sign

Seen on a road in Chicago. The barely visible orange sign is a “No parking sign”, located about 20 feet from a dug up road.

To anyone walking by, it’s readily apparent that there’s no place to park at all.

It got me wondering: is the sign necessary? Are there people who adamantly insist that it’s acceptable to park adjacent to the roadwork even if it means parking in the other lane? Are the workers targeting ATV owners? Or perhaps they are engaged in a “state the obvious” contest?

  1. I am no longer shocked or amazed by anyone’s parking efforts. Some people are willing to park anywhere, regardless of how stupid or problematic that may be.
