I am not a photogenic person. A quick review of our editors page makes that abundantly clear. And when the political flyer from the Tories came through the mail slot this week, it was clear to me that being photogenic has its benefits.
Just look at David Cameron, the leader of the Conservative Party … clearly the sharpest looking person in the bunch. I guess good looks and a comfort in front of the camera is a helpful career trait.
(As this is not a political blog, we won’t even get into a discussion of whether the Tory candidates are the best option in the upcoming elections.)
And we have reached a new low…
@ Steve –
Explain yourself.
is this a real photo or did the producer of the mailing create it from photoshop? There are people looking in all directions.
@ Mark –
I think it is an original photo … the lighting is consistent across the photo. It takes a very skilled hand to get that right on so many faces in Photoshop. It would take hours and hours to get that sort of consistency if it were faked. The photo is in a political flyer, so I don’t think there was the budget for that amount of photo re-touching.
I think a group of people were taking photos of the politicians, but none of those with cameras were photographers. So everyone was looking at whoever called their name. Since David Cameron is the leader of the Tory Party, they chose the best photo of him for the flyer.
