Last night I was eating some curly fries (‘Mmmmm … curly fries’, he mumbles in a Homer Simpson-esque voice as he types and drools) and decided to use a bit of ketchup. No, not a huge fan of the tomato sauce, but it was there and suddenly I felt like I wanted some. So I poured.
And then I read the nut allergy health warning:
The warning reads:
Allergy advice: • Contains milk • Recipe: No nuts.
• Ingredients: Cannot guarantee nut free. • Factory: Product made in nut free area, but nuts used elsewhere. Suitable for vegetarians.
So is the ‘nuts used elsewhere’ just vague verbage suggesting that nuts may be used elsewhere in the ketchup factory, or is it some sort of nut-based paranoia? Nuts, they are everywhere! We can’t escape them! They may have already infiltrated this bottle of ketchup! Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!
You are driving yourself nuts over a simple yet attemptedly comprehensive act of CYA or should it be CYN?
@ Shefaly:
Welcome back! Good to hear from you again.
CYN … Ha-ha. That’s funny.
