Life got the better of me today. No, nothing deeply tragic or life-altering. It was more that the steady flow of life went from a comforting, smoothly drifting along river to fast-paced rapids with little or no warning. It put me off my game … and made me wonder how to measure a successful day.
Is it working through the ‘to do’ list and reaching the daily goals? Or is it merely surviving whatever our surroundings (our work, our family, our friends, our government and so much more) throw at us?
Maybe an accurate measure of success takes both items into account and surveys how well we managed both.
I measure daily success with a simple criteria: did my wife come home or flee as common sense should dictate.
Her middle name must be “danger.”
Her middle name is “Death from Above” 😉
