You know what you should do. You know what you want to do. Ah, internal conflict. I’d bet you’ve had some of these conversations with yourself.
Maybe it’s with food. I’m going to eat this double-fudge chocolate brownie of death, but I’ll eat a salad for lunch every day this week.
Maybe it’s with exercise. I’m going to skip my workout today, but I swear I’ll do a double this weekend.
Maybe it’s with your snooze button. I’ll stay in bed until the last possible second today, but I’ll get up extra early tomorrow.
What’s your relationship to indulgence? Do your periodic forays into taboo pleasures — ahem, heaps of cheesecake — send you into a guilt spiral, or do you give yourself permission to enjoy spoiling yourself every so often?
Nope. I just eat the cake. People are so caught up with physical well being that they neglect emotional and psychological well being. The fittest people on the planet are also a little insane. And they get really mad at me when I start talking like this. I eat right, I work out, but I’m not going to spoil my life to be a little bit more in shape. Sorry. Moderation is called for with everything including fitness. That is the sensible way to be always.
