When the fruits gather round and nobody is around to overhear the conversation, do you think the lemon speaks with pride about the fact that it is the scent of lemon which humans use to mask other scents and spray in their toilets? Alternatively, do you think it is a source of shame for which the other fruits mock the lemon?
But the power of lemon is not its cent. Ascorbic acid is an antibacterial agent that lemons and other citrus fruits use to protect themselves and their seeds from bacteria. The acidic nature of these fruit juices also make for a good cleaning solution.
@ Jordan,
Oh, ye of little sniffing power! The power of the lemon will always reside in its pungent smell.
Only the Limeys could argue otherwise.
But the lime is very closely related to the lemon. And I’m not from England.
