Most of us have experienced those frustrating conversations when one doesn’t share a common language with the person one is trying to communicate with, and something gets lost in the translation.
One chickenmonkeydoggian duo keenly observed however that in some cases translation is quite extraneous!
These readers commented:
“Recently on a vacation, my brother and I noticed signs in multiple languages. However, when a word is SPELLED exactly the same in each of the listed languages, is it really necessary to write the same spelling out twice? You’re going to pronounce it in your own language either way.”
Thanks to this vacationing brother and sister duo for contributing this quirky outtake from their vacation! Remember, we here at chickenmonkeydog encourage all visitors to submit the quirky observations and photos from their lives!
This only serves to remind me how I haven’t traveled abroad, which is somewhat depressing.
Maybe CMD would like to sponsor me for a trip abroad? I’d be happy to snap pics and include what I would hope would be witty observations!
Sounds like a sweet deal for CMD!
@ forkboy1965,
Thank you for your submitted request for chickenmonkeydog.com to sponsor you on a trip abroad. We’re grateful for your submission and are appreciative of your commitment to our blog.
With that in mind, your proposal has been included for discussion at our next profit-sharers meeting.
I hasten to advise you that since chickenmonkeydog.com is not currently in a state of revenue generation, the likelihood that there will be profits to share, much less to spend on a sponsored trip abroad, is slim. Still, there is always hope … we may find a secret benefactor somewhere.
Kind regards,
The Technical Editor
