I saw this button in the clubhouse of a neighborhood not too far from where I live. The clubhouse is part of the home owner’s association.
There were no other signs, warnings or indicators near the button. Just the word “EMERGENCY” and a green button.
I am going with the understanding that you slam the button when you want to create your own emergency.
This button would be great if it also allowed you to be the hero that saved the day in the midst of the sudden and unexpected emergency.
