“Wait. Did you hear that?”
“What was that sound?”
“Maybe nothing. I’ll ignore it.”
(Moments later)
“Oh! There it is again.”
“And once more.”
“Ok, my computer is definitely making this noise, but I have no idea why, nor what the noise is supposed to signify.”
There is no on-screen pop-up, nor anything at all that I can discern which accompanies the noise. (Except perhaps a spike in the graph of my nervousness over time.)
“What is going on? Is this an alert? A noteworthy piece of news? A self-destruct sequence initiating?”
“Argggh! I can’t stand not knowing.”
Beep … beep … beep
Beeeep … beeeep … beeeep
Beep … beep … beep
It’s a transformer.
Do you have facebook up? Or gmail? Or some other website that might have an embedded chat program? What is the sound?
@Jordan
I really wanted to share the sound to ask for help, but it was so unpredictable that I could not think of a good way to record it. What is the audio equivalent of “Print Screen”?
I think it is Skype related, but it is a noise that I had not heard much before recently (despite being a frequent Skype user) and which did not happen at the same time as chats were happening.
