Today I got a call on my mobile phone from a phone number which I did not recognize. I answered and was greeted by a recorded voice saying:
“This is the second notice that the factory warranty on your vehicle may have expired.”
I hung up at that point. I don’t like recorded messages from someone calling me, but more importantly, I drive a 34 year old car … yeah, I am pretty sure the warranty expired a while ago, but thanks for the notice.
Should I be concerned that this was a wrong number, and some innocent citizen didn’t get the call about their car’s factory warranty? I think not.
I received the same call on my cell phone at 8:01 this morning. I don’t even own a car.
A warranty on that car might be worth your time to call back.

Lovely to wake up to that call though, right?

You’ve been away from office-work far too long if you think I was still sleeping at 8am. The call came through loud and clear in my office.
