As a creative (I am a creative, right?), I enjoy revisiting the history of a project, reviewing the iterations and edits that went into a particular design. I love seeing how what started out as initial sketches on a scrap of paper developed into a big website or print brochure. For me, the story behind how something was created is as interesting as the end creation itself.
The other day, I opened the calculator app on my iPad and saw some numbers on the screen. “What had I been calculating?” I wondered. I became fascinated by the numbers: how did I achieve that mathematical result? It certainly would be very exciting to able to explore the history of my calculator, to see what numbers, fractions and equations I had studied, used and computed.
And why! What was it that you were trying to accomplish by doing these calculations?

That’s why it would be cool if the calculator app included a ‘tape’ so you could see what you had done.
