A Plate by Any Other Name

"STOLL IN" license plate

This vanity plate seen in a parking garage. Not sure if this refers to a family called the Stolls who are sitting in the car or if this was intended as a homonym for “stolen”. Either way, if I were a cop, I would be inclined to give them a second look.

Are there any other tragically unfortunate (or woefully misguided) license plates that might have an increased likelihood of getting pulled over?

  1. Could be Stoll, IN state representative. I live in Indiana. There are parts of this state that aren’t very smart, they could have voted for a guy from Illinois.

  2. On a similar note — I saw a Lexus SUV the other day with this on it’s plates “ILVDRT” — which I translated to either “I love dirt” or “I live in dirt” — either way, seemed odd on a vehicle with a starting price of nearly 50K dollars!
