Atop a deli counter I spy a small sign showing me the thickness options for how I would like the deli meats and cheeses sliced.
The thickness on the left is approximately 1mm wide. The thickness on the right is approximately 1cm wide.
I do not believe that there is a need for so many options between 1 and 10 millimeters. Perhaps a few people want half-inch thick slices of meat on the sandwiches, but why provide so many mid-range options and nothing for those of us who like sandwich meats paper thin? Where are my 0.25, 0.5, 0.62738, and 0.75 mm thickness options?
Seems to me that this scale may have been designed to reflect the machine’s capabilities, rather than reflecting customer needs. Shouldn’t the machine be designed to match customer needs though?
I ask for chicken cut at number four so that I can dice it as a snack for the cats.
Makes me a happy customer.

Great to know that someone is getting use out of this scale range. Still not sure they need SO many options in that range.
Cheers!
You could have one MOTHER of a sandwich using slicer 10!
