I’ve owned a microwave, or have lived with people who have owned a microwave, for the better part of 25 years … if not longer. Never, ever, ever once in that time have I ever used the one-step buttons that seem to be on all microwaves.
By a show of comments, can we ask if anyone ever uses these buttons? Do we even know if they work?
They work as well as can be expected with a microwave.
I don’t like microwaves. So much of a hassle for most things, and the bloody things take up too much space.
I confess to using the beverage setting to heat water for tea. I don’t ever make popcorn, and would not think of “cooking” chicken/fish in a microwave.
I use the microwave for warming up lunch and not much else.
And am I the only one who gets annoyed when people leave time on the cooking timer? That is, they just open the door to the microwave and don’t press clear afterwards.
