As it turns out, in a tight spot you can use the tines of a plastic fork as a chip clip, closing a bag of chips.
A pretty terrible chip clip, but hey it did the trick.
Unfortunately, like so often occurs when one implements a “good enough for now” type of solution, “now” tends to stretch out indefinitely. Weeks later, the fork is still holding down the fort.
